I’ve already gone on record telling friends that Christoph Waltz will get an Oscar nomination for his performance as Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Whether he’ll win is another story. In the mean time, however, Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood has word that Waltz will be villainous once again in Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen.
Just a few weeks ago, Edward James Olmos and Tom Wilkinson joined the cast.
Waltz will take on the “gangster villain” of the pic, and hopefully he’ll make Seth Rogen cower behind his green mask.
Based on the success of Tarantino’s Basterds – crossing $100 million domestically – it’s no wonder why studios are offering Waltz roles. He’s that good.
Sony Pictures has currently set The Green Hornet for release on December 17th, 2010.
