TNA Planning Changes to PPV & TV Schedule

News

Dixie Carter has been looking into rearranging TNA’s PPV schedule due to the monthly format performing so badly. The plan is to drop to six or eight PPVs a year, with live three-hour specials to be broadcast on Spike TV during the off-months. Spike has yet to approve any such specials but, in any case, TNA cannot pursue this plan until their contractual obligations with cable companies to produce monthly PPV shows expires.

Furthermore, TNA officials have no interest in moving Impact to Monday nights to go head-to-head with WWE Raw, which was at one point the ultimate goal of Jeff Jarrett. The one time that Raw was pre-empted and broadcast on Thursday night, it cut Impact’s audience in half. Needless to say, Spike TV is adamant about not trying to create another Monday Night War anytime soon.

Kevin Fertig had a try-out match with TNA recently but failed to impress. He had a good look but there is no interest in giving him a deal just now.
