Updates on Sting, TNA, Bound For Glory

News

Sting has not told TNA whether or not he is signing for another year or retiring after his current contract expires. Bound For Glory is being promoted as some sort of a farewell to him. If he decides to re-sign then the push will be about him getting one last short at the title, perhaps with a retirement stipulation attached to it if he loses the match. If he stays with TNA, he would win, if he decides to leave, he would lose and be finished with the company for the time being.

Vince Russo does have all the main portions of the shows leading up to Bound For Glory written. TNA is not interested in changing these plans regardless of what happens, as not even Kurt Angle’s recent legal problems convinced them to change course. What happens after Bound For Glory, however, remains to be seen. There may very well be a major change in the creative team that could indicate the exact status of Jeff Jarrett in the promotion. Hulk Hogan made comments on a recent Bubba the Love Sponge show about how Dixie Carter needed to get rid of Vince Russo before he would work in TNA, perhaps as an all-American tag team with Kurt Angle, due to their history in WCW. However, Hogan has since revealed plans for an Australian promotion along with Eric Bischoff that would seem to indicate he has no interest in working for any non-McMahon wrestling promoter in the USA. Ed Leslie and Brian Knobs better get their passports in order.

Kip James is now working as an agent for TNA. The chances are that he will be back in action as a wrestler soon enough.
