The WEC today announced a Nov. 18 bout between reigning featherweight champion Mike Brown and top contender Jose Aldo. The bout is expected to headlined WEC 44.
The company made the announcement via Twitter.
Brown defeated Urijah Faber at WEC 36 last November to capture the belt, and has dominated in two title defenses. His last fight came in June, where he defeated Faber for a second time by decision. He is riding an ten-fight win streak dating back to 2006.
Jose Aldo earned his title shot by beating Cub Swanson in eight seconds with a vicious set of flying knees. Aldo rides an eight-fight win streak into the bout, but Brown represents far tougher competition than Aldo has faced thus far.
WEC 44 will take place November 18, 2009 at the Palms in Las Vegas.
