Mysteries of the Freemasons

Secret societies have been a fascination of conspiracy theorists for centuries and few societies have rivaled the fascination and history of The Freemasons.

This History Channel special tells us the possible history of the Freemasons, dating back to the building of King Solomon’s temple and the Knight’s Templar. Leading all the way up to the birth of the United States and how the Freemasons involvement may have helped forge our countries government and help win the war for independence from Britain.

The rich mysterious history of the Freemasons is presented here by historians and Freemasons alike. You hear what many to believe the true history of the society while others discredit these theories and present their own ideas creating more questions than answers. But then, if you really believe in secret societies and conspiracies then you can only imagine that the real truth would never be revealed in something as trivial as a documentary made for TV.

Regardless of what maybe fact and what may be delusion, this is a very fascinating look at the history of the Knight’s Templar and the Freemasons. It’s interesting to see the theories of how Washington D.C. was built as one giant shout out to Freemasonry from the size of the city to the specific location of where all the major structures were built. It is also interesting to look at the dollar bill to see what secret Freemason symbols may or may not be printed for all to see.

I’ve always been fascinated by the Freemasons and their mysterious past and while this documentary may not have opened all the doors it shed some possible light and piqued my interested to dig deeper. If you have any interesting in learning about secret societies this is a great place to start.

The show is presented in a widescreen but is not formatted for widescreen TV’s and thusly has a black border on all sides, which is kind of annoying. It is presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo sound. For a TV documentary this looks pretty good, some of the reenactments are silly but the look and sound are fine.

Secret Societies: (45 min.) This is another documentary that talks about other secret societies including Skull and Bones, the Illuminati and the Bilderberg Group amongst others. A very good documentary to watch and one that is sure to ignite the paranoia in all of us. Plus it features many interviews with conspiracy theorist David Icke, which is always a good time.

If you are at all interested in secret societies and conspiracy theories then this is a great disc to check out. It provides a very informative and interesting history of the Freemasons and provides many theories about the group. I’d also recommend reading “The Illuminatus Trilogy” by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea
