Daniel Cormier has one of the most impressive wrestling pedigrees in mixed martial arts, but very little actual mixed martial arts training. Cormier didn’t need many hours of training during his MMA debut, however, beating Gary Frazier in an unimpressive bout that displayed just how far Cormier has to go before being considered a true prospect.
The bout took place on the Strikeforce: Challengers card in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Cormier forced the overmatched Frazier to the ground in the second round, raining down punches before taking his back and pounding his way to a ref stoppage. Frazier, also making his MMA debut, attempted several takedowns in the bout but couldnt dislodge Cormier.
