Floyd Mayweather Jr paid the IRS $5.6 million in back taxes from 2007. Mayweather had a $10 million purse for his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez last week. Mayweather has been dismissing rumors that he returned to boxing for the money. This certainly doesn’t help dispel those rumors.
Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer said the IRS planned to take the money directly from the fight purse before Floyd elected to pay them back in full prior to the fight.
