A-Nightmare-On-Elm-Street-2010-1

It’s not even Halloween and already New Line has debuted the first trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street on MySpace of all places. Spearheading the remake is Platinum Dunes (Michael Bay’s production company responsible for the remakes of Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre). It’s hard to get past Robert England not donning the red and green sweater, but Jackie Earle Haley could be a good Freddy Krueger. Check out the teaser trailer below.

A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades and kills people inside their dreams, resulting in their deaths in reality.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is directed by first-time filmmaker Samuel Bayer, who has directed music videos for Metallica (“Until it Sleeps”), The Smashing Pumpkins (“Bullet with Butterfly Wings”) and several others. The screenplay was co-written by Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick (Wolf, The Glass House, Doom). This is a remake of Wes Craven’s original horror classic from 1984. New Line / Warner Brothers is bringing A Nightmare on Elm Street to theaters on April 30th, 2010 next year. So guys, what do you think?
