Amir Khan will defend his WBA light welterweight title against Dmitriy Salita on December 5. The fight will take place at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England. Khan will carry a 21-1 (15 KOs) record into the fight while Salita comes in at 30-0-1 (16 KOs). It will be the first title defense for Khan after winning the belt from Andreas Kotelnik in July. The winner will face interim title holder Marcos Maidana, provided Maidana retains his title against William Gonzalez on November 21.
