WWE Summerslam 2009 Buyrate News: Lowest Since 2004

News

The buyrate for WWE Summerslam 2009 is in, and it’s not great news for WWE.

As we reported, the buyrate is the lowest for Summerslam, one of the “big four” PPVs of the year, since 2004, which was headlined by Randy Orton vs Chris Benoit.

WWE’s Corporate website is listing the show at doing a total of between 375,000 to 380,000 buys, which doesnt break down the numbers by domestic and international. As a comparison, Summerslam 2008 did around 500,000 buys worldwide. While the final number could end up higher than reported now, it’s unlikely it will exceed last year.
