There was a big night of action in New York tonight as Top Rank presented Island Warriors: Latin Fury 12.
Juan Manuel Lopez earned a unanimous decision over Rogers Mtagwa. The scores were 116-111, 115-111, and 114-113. Lopez scored a knockdown of Mtagwa in the 5th round. Mtagwa came with guns blazing in the final round and Lopez barely survived.
Yuriorkis Gamboa defeated Whyber Garcia by TKO in the 4th round. Garcia beat the count after being knocked down but the fight was stopped shortly thereafter.
John Duddy scored a unanimous decision victory over Jorge Munoz. Duddy moved to 27-1 with the win.
Odlanier Solis beat Monte Barrett by TKO in the 2nd round. Solis won the gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 2004 Olympics. Solis is now 15-0.
