News

The following news items were posted on the October 13th edition of the ROH Newswire:

ROH returns to suburban St. Louis on July 23rd, 2010. Tickets are now available on ROH’s website.

ROH is currently running a “take 40% off your next order” promotion. The sale applies to just about everything on ROH’s website – including DVD’s, tickets, apparel, and more – and does not have a minimum purchase requirement, nor is it restricted to ROH items. The offer is valid until this Friday at 10 AM or while supplies last. Simply enter the code oct40 in the box marked “Discount/Promotional Code” when going through the checkout process. The system will automatically generate the discount.

ROH has signed Tyler Black vs. Roderick Strong for its suburban Toronto show on November 14th. This match is being billed as a rematch from this past weekend’s Survival of the Fittest tournament, where Black and Strong were the two remaining competitors (Black came out on top after a series of superkicks).

Speaking of Black, Kenny King laid down a (kayfabe) challenge to Black for the November 7th show in Edison, NJ, after being beaten by Black in their Survival of the Fittest qualifier this week. Black has not yet responded.

The following wrestlers have also been signed for the Edison show: Sonjay Dutt, Erick Stevens, Sara Del Rey, Necro Butcher, and Delirious (w/Daizee Haze).

Speaking of Delirious, he is off to Pro Wrestling NOAH to take part in Autumn Navigation 2009. ROH wishes him the best of luck on the tour.

Kevin Steen suffered a knee injury this Saturday in Indianapolis and is scheduled to see doctors this week. It is unknown at this point whether he will miss any time. ROH’s Holdren McNeil has written an article on Steen and El Generico’s next step, whether it is as a tag team or as singles wrestlers, titled “Where Do We Go From Here?”

As was previously reported, Eddie Edwards underwent surgery last week to repair his broken elbow. Two days after the procedure, which required the insertion of a steel plate and screws into the broken arm – but not a hard cast – Edwards was in physical therapy. The intitial prognosis for recovery was 6-12 weeks, but Edwards currently looks to be closer to the 6-week mark. ROH officials will monitor Edwards’ progress before issuing a decision on the state of the ROH Tag Team titles.

ROH continues to tease a singles push for Davey Richards. According to the wire, other than competing in two match this weekend in Collinsville and Indianapolis (a loss to Kenny Omega and another to the Briscoes, the latter occurring after Austin Aries left Richards high-and-dry), Richards “was keenly aware of the top matches over the weekend; keeping tabs on the other top contenders to the ROH Title.”

Finally, ROH expresses its condolences to the family of Harley Race for the loss of his wife, B.J.
