ROH News – KENTA’s ROH tour, Edison show matches, and more

News

The following news items were posted on the October 15th edition of the ROH Newswire:

The first two matches of KENTA’s November ROH tour have been announced, as he will be involved in two of the six ROH on HDNet tapings on November 5th and 6th. The first night, KENTA will take on Tyler Black. The next night, KENTA and Black will team up against Austin Aries and Kenny King. Click here for an article on those matches. Then, on November 7th, in Edison, KENTA will do battle with Roderick Strong. ROH writer Holdren McNeil has written a piece offering his take on that match.

Other matches have been signed for that three-day run (11/5-11/7). One of the main events on November 5th will be Chris Hero vs. Colt Cabana. Then, in Edison, Hero and Davey Richards will face Kevin Steen & El Generico in tag team action. Also in Edison, Kenny Omega will square off against Sonjay Dutt.

The newswire is playing up a story where ROH officials are questioning the legitimacy of the Austin Aries Lucky Lottery, thus subjecting it to review by the booking committee:

ROH officials have exchanged heated dialogue over the past few days with ROH World Champion Austin Aries. Aries predictably has once more demanded to bring the “A Double L Double” (Austin Aries Lucky Lottery) to ROH on HDNet; this time receiving resistance from both ROH and HDNet officials. It is the intention of all involved to have the ROH World Championship defended in Philadelphia against an ‘appropriate challenger’. Aries has insists that his defenses as a result of his drawing have been totally at random. ROH Executives, including President Cary Silkin and ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette, are working with HDNet and the ROH Booking Committee to resolve this issue. More on this to come.
