ROH News – Aries v. Richards, Tag Team news, Eddie Edwards update, and more

News

The following news items were posted on the October 22nd edition of the ROH Newswire:

Austin Aries will defend the ROH World Title on November 13th in Detroit against Davey Richards, by function of Richards cashing in his previously earned title shot. Should Aries retain, he will defend his title again the next night in Mississauga, against a not-yet-named opponent. Because Richards is not scheduled to appear in Mississauga, should he win, his first title defense will occur sometime in December.

The Mississauga show will also include the ROH debut of the tag team of Asylum and Burns, known as The Flatliners. Their opponents will be announced in next week’s Newswire.

That will not be the only tag team action in Mississauga. ROH has signed a match between the Super Smash Brothers and Kenny King & Rhett Titus.

Speaking of King and Titus, ROH is using the wire to further the storyline from this past Monday, when Jerry Lynn required medical attention as a result of a double-team wheelbarrow piledriver delivered by King and Titus. According “has made progress in his recovery” and “hopes to return to ROH action ‘sooner than later to even the score'”.

In another piece of storyline furtherance, Prince Nana has informed ROH officials that “the time is near for another monster to join the Embassy” (author’s note: shouldn’t you do something with Bison Smith first?).

Eddie Edwards’ rehab for his broken elbow is said to be “on schedule.” ROH has confirmed that Edwards will be on hand for the next set of ROH on HDNet television tapings, on 11/5 and 11/6.

Delirious picked up another victory in his tour with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, this time over Ricky Marvin. Delirious will also be on hand for the next set of ROH on HDNet tapings, as well as the Edison, NJ show on 11/7.

After weeks of talks with ROH, Alex Koslov has decided to remain in Mexico. ROH officials are optimistic that Koslov will appear in ROH in 2010.
