Dixie Carter, Vince Russo and a few other TNA officials met with Spike TV representatives in New York to work on future strategies for the promotion. The meeting had been planned long before the Hulk Hogan announcement as both TNA and Spike meet several times per year to discuss their strategies. Jeff Jarrett was not in attendance, neither were Hogan or Eric Bischoff. A number of sources have claimed that Hogan and Bischoff will have no creative input with TNA and that Russo, Ed Ferrera and the other writers are not going to be replaced. Nonetheless, Hogan has suggestions about which wrestlers he would like to be brought into TNA – although TNA is not required to use anybody in particular as part of this deal. There are no plans for Impact to be moved to Mondays as Spike TV wants to keep the program on Thursday nights as a ‘destination show’, which was part of the reason for the Saturday replay being eliminated a few weeks ago. There are no plans for the Impact format to be changed or to make it a live show either, since the production schedule and house show tour dates have been set through April 2010 and they do not want to rearrange it all at this juncture. It looks as though TNA staff were told about Hogan just 15 minutes before his press conference began, with only about half-a-dozen people being aware of the deal beforehand.
