Edgar announces Pellegrino out of TUF 10 Finale Bout: Veach Named Replacement

Frank Edgar announced via Twitter today that his fight with Kurt Pellegrino is off. The two were supposed to meet at “The Ultimate Fight 10 Finale on Dec. 5.

The message was short, but the news is clear.

“Pelligrino pulled. Stay tuned to see replacement”

There is no word yet on why Pellegrino has pulled out of the lightweight fight . “Batman” is coming off a unanimous decision victory to Josh Neer at UFC 101. His bout with Edgar would be a deciding factor in terms of contendership.

Frank Edgar’s last fight was a three round unanimous decision victory over Sean Sherk at UFC 98. Edgar is a top contender in the UFC lightweight division.

“The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale” is set for Dec. 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is yet another injury problem that has come up for the UFC today after Thiago Alves pulled out of his Jon Fitch fight earlier this morning. Update: Pellegrino has three herniated discs in his back, according to Ariel Helwani at AOL FanHouse. Also, Matt Veach has been named the replacement per MMAWeekly.com.
