ABC and Kathy Griffin Say Let's Dance

News, Top Story

ABC’s dance fever shows no signs of breaking. The network has ordered up a short-run celebrity competition called Let’s Dance that will premiere later this month.

Kathy Griffin has signed on to host the series, which will feature celebs re-creating famous dance routines from movies, musicals and music videos and trying to win money for their favorite charities. Let’s Dance will premiere at 9:30 p.m. ET Monday, Nov. 23 — following the final performance episode of Dancing with the Stars — and run for three more weeks after that at 9 p.m. Mondays. The finale is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The network promises that “stars from all walks of life” will compete in the series, but it doesn’t name any names. Celebrities will also sit on the judging panel and will pick one routine from each of the first three episodes to advance to the finals. Votes from viewers will determine three more finalists, and the home audience will also pick the winner.

James Sunderland and Antonia Hurford-Jones are executive producing the series, which is based on a British format that debuted to strong ratings earlier this year.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
