10 Thoughts On SmackDown – 11.06.09

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

1. A great opening segment if only because it grants us the long awaited Undertaker/ Chris Jericho confrontation. I’m pulling for the two to get a singles feud down the line once Jericho drops the tag titles, and its not going to be long before we see that now that D-Generation X seems interested in them.

2. I’m enjoying the continuation of the John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler feud but I’m really hoping that the six man tag doesn’t mean we’re getting yet another Hart Dynasty vs. Cryme Time feud, because if it does I swear I’ll scream and I mean loudly.

3. I’m glad that WWE isn’t going with the same ‘former friend who doesn’t want to hurt the other friend’ angle with Rey Mysterio and Batista that has been used time and time again.

4. Another dominant victory by Beth Phoenix. Some solid pushing for the Glamazon.

5. While it may have been a complete squash it was still great to see Jimmy Wang Yang on my television screen again. Let’s give him a push please creative.

6. Rey Mysterio needed a win against opposition like Mike Knox to show that he can down larger opponents. Hopefully Mysterio and Batista are able to pull off a decent match at Survivor Series, since big Dave isn’t exactly a solid in ring worker.

7. I’m fine with CM Punk losing to R-Truth if it continues the ongoing storyline that’s been going on recently. I just hope it actually goes somewhere and doesn’t just result in CM Punk looking like a fool and moving back to the midcard.

8. I’ve been waiting for the traditional Survivor Series matches to be made and finally they are. I’ve always been a massive fan of Survivor Series, because it gives us something different and a stipulation that isn’t overdone.

9. Next week we get to enjoy both The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho and John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler. See, this is why SmackDown is the best show in WWE right now.

10. Batista was rightly made to look like an absolute monster during the SmackDown main event, although I can’t help but think that too much time was given to Batista/ Mysterio tonight and not enough to the World Heavyweight Championship feud.
