Belgian actress Cecile de France has signed on to star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood’s supernatural drama Hereafter.
The film, written by Peter Morgan (The Queen), tells the story of three people who are all touched by death in different ways. De France, whose resume includes High Tension and Russian Dolls, will portray a French journalist who has a near-death experience.
Principal photography began last month. Filming will take place in Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco. It is slated for release in December 2010.
This will be Damon’s second film with Eastwood, as he stars opposite Morgan Freeman in the upcoming Invictus, which is the true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s underdog rugby team to help unite their country. Invictus is set to open Dec. 11.
