Matt Striker and Todd Grisham rundown the activities for this evening and as CM Punk makes his way to the ring, the growing “feud” between Punk and referee Scott Armstrong. Punk let’s us know that Scott Armstrong’s officiating sucks, bashes the bad habits of the English people and makes sure to let them know that he is better than them and that he (unlike all of them) is perfect in every way. He also declares that he will beat R-Truth tonight, that he could beat up anyone in the arena tonight and let’s us know that Straight Edge is in fact the answer to Truth’s weekly music ponderings. After his sing-a-long, R-Truth offers a retort and probably his longest running WWE promo to date which was basically that these people didn’t pay to hear your opinions.

CM Punk vs. R-Truth: For some reason (probably because one is white and the other is black) these two have been added to the Orton and Kofi teams for Survivor Series. Truth takes the action into the corner to start but Punk reverses a whip to the other side and goes for an early GTS attempt. Truth is able to fight out of it and after an irish whip reversal; he back body drops Punk out of the ring and the show to a commercial break.

We return to action in the ring with Punk taking the action in the corner for a few shoulder blocks. He whips Truth into the corner but gets hit with an elbow as he charges in. Truth climbs the turnbuckle but Punk recovers quickly and kicks him off the top rope. Striker calls R-Truth “Smackdown’s Johnny Cash” and takes time to notice that Punk is letting his chest hair grow out while Punk works on Truth with a series of holds. Punk goes for a springboard clothesline but Truth catches him with a kick and that sparks a comeback. Truth goes for a scissors kick but Punk dodges and sets up the Go To Sleep but Truth tries to reverse that into a roll-up. However Truth cannot get the move over and Punk sits down on the attempt and grabs onto the ropes for added support and that is enough for a three count and the win.

Natalya Neidhart vs. Mickie James: Before the match we got a backstage segment with Layla and Mickie badmouthing each other but we did not have time to show Natalya’s entrance. Nat is very trash talky to start but after a taking a dropkick to the face she bails outside. James tries to follow her out and gets tossed into the ringsteps for her exuberance. Once back in Ms. Neidhart takes control with a series of holds including a nice surfboard submission hold. Natalya continues her control of the match and her trash talking as she pounds on Mickie in the corner. Mickie reverses a follow up attack with a head scissors as Matt tells us she is capable of maneuvers like that because of her inner thigh strength. Just as Mickie’s comeback seems to be gathering steam, Michelle McCool and Layla come down to ringside with some of Mickie’s clothing and start ripping and cutting into it with a pair of scissors. Natalya uses this distraction to attack her from behind and lock on a Sharpshooter and Mickie taps.

Fit Finlay vs. Drew McIntyre: As McIntyre makes his way to the ring, we are made aware that Finlay and Drew will be on opposite sides of the Morrison/Miz teams at Survivor Series. Finlay is immediately on the attack with a flurry of strikes including a short armed clothesline. McIntyre is able to fire back with a kick to the head that sends Fit out of the ring. He follows Finlay out but they are quickly back into the ring and back into a slugfest. McIntyre gets clotheslined out of the ring and this time it is Finlay that follows him out but the fight returns to the ring pretty quickly. The slugfest continues and the ref soon calls for the bell when he cannot separate the two even though there was really no need to. Punk’s right Scott Armstrong is just not showing good judgment as an official these days. The ringing of the bell does not stop the two men from fighting and Finlay goes for his weapon of choice. But he turns right into a big boot from McIntyre who then makes use of the shillelagh for his own attacks. In fact, McIntyre even walks up the ramp like he is leaving, only to return to the ring and hit Finlay with the weapon again.

Matt Striker hosts a segment in the ring so that Rey Mysterio and Batista can have a special contract signing for their match at Survivor Series. I assume the special ceremony is due to an additional document that Dave produces saying that Mysterio cannot sue Batista if he gets injured during the match. Eventually Rey signs the additional document and he throws the table onto Dave because someone has to do something like that at every WWE contract signing.

John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler: Unlike two weeks ago this match will be for the Intercontinental Championship. The match begins with a bit of a standoff before Dolph gets going with both his boots and his trash talk. Morrison doesn’t stand for either and answers by nailing Ziggler with a flapjack and then hits his break dancing leg drop for a quick two count. Morrison tries to take his attack to the top rope but Dolph kicks him down and Dolph goes for a quick cover. Ziggler nails a gutbuster and goes for another early cover as we go to a commercial break.

When we return to live taped action, Ziggler is trying to wear down the IC Champ with a submission but John punches his way out of it. But Morrison misses a flying attack into the corner and lands roughly to end his comeback. After going for another quick pin attempt, Ziggler nails the Perfect neck snap and covers but is still only able to get a two count. Dolph follows with his signature series of elbows and covers but it is not enough for three either. Ziggler starts back in with the trash talk and Morrison answers with a punch that stirs another comeback. John goes for the Moonlight Drive, but Ziggler reverse into a facebuster and gets 2.6 count out of it. Morrison nails a Pele kick that gets him a two count, then goes for Starship Pain but misses. Ziggler tries for a pin with the assistance of the ropes but the ref catches him and breaks it up. Both men climb the turnbuckle and slug it out for control of the next maneuver. This leads to them both tumbling over the top rope and onto the floor. Neither man is able to even get to his feet by the count of ten much less back in the ring, so the match ends in a double count-out. Later in the show it was announced that these tow will face each other again next week in a 2 out of 3 fall match for the IC title.

Beth Phoenix vs. Lisa Taylor: Ms. Taylor is the reigning Commonwealth Champion according to Matt Striker. After getting a few strikes in, Phoenix nails Lisa with a shoulder breaker then slams her into the turnbuckle before coming out of that with a top rope neckbreaker which made for a nice sequence. Beth then nails her tribute to Prince the Glam Slam for the easy pinfall victory.

The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho: This is being advertised everywhere (including Jericho’s Twitter page) that this is the first time these two have faced each other in a singles match. Jericho dodges an initial attack and fires shots of his own to the Undertaker in the corner before the ref forces him into a break. Taker then tosses Jericho into that same corner for a flurry of his own with the refs call for a break not being as successful. Striker makes a Twilight joke and Jericho gets clotheslined outside of the ring. The Undertaker follows him out and nails his leg drop on the apron before sending him back inside. Taker starts to work over the arm and goes for Old School, but Jericho is able to reverse the attempt and we hit a commercial break.

Jericho is on top of the Taker and firing punch after punch when we return to the match. Action flows into two of the corner with Jericho getting the better of each exchange. Undertaker slides backwards out of the ring and after stopping to celebrate, Jericho follows him out for another round of strikes before sending him back into the ring. Chris continues to lay in both a verbal and physical beat down on his foe but eventually Taker has enough and a slugfest ensues. Undertaker is able to nail a corner clothesline and goes for a snake eyes but Jericho reverses with a dropkick. Taker grabs Chris by the throat but Jericho is able to escape the chokeslam. Taker misses an attack in the corner but when Jericho returns fire he turns it into a Last Ride attempt. But Jericho is able to slip out at the last minute and nails the Codebreaker for a long two count. Chris gets cocky and tries to deliver a Tombstone but Taker is able to reverse it however he is unable to hit one of his own when Jericho escapes his grasp. Chris hits a chop block and then hits the Lionsault but before he can cover Taker has him by the throat. He goes for another chokeslam attempt but Chris reverses it and locks in the Walls of Jericho. But Taker is able to fight out and reverse it into Hells Gate and that is enough to make Jericho tap out. Post match, Big Show comes out and he and Jericho double team the champion. Eventually Kane comes down to end the attack on his brother and Vince McMahon calls Teddy Long to make a match with Taker/Kane facing Jeri-Show for next week’s show.
