Rey Mysterio’s knees are in very bad condition. He requires surgery to correct it but is delaying the operation as long as possible, which will likely lead to more long-term complications. He is excited about his current program with Batista, unlike a number of his other feuds in recent times, and WWE does not intend to rush through it. Mysterio is expected to be out for about 6 months whenever he does get the surgery. Barring a substantial elevation for John Morrison, that would leave only a part-time and injured Undertaker on Smackdown’s main-event babyface roster.
Maryse is expected to return on Raw within a couple of weeks.
Bryan Danielson has signed his WWE contract and is now on the payroll.
