Hey there fellow desperate people! The countdown for this year’s sweeps episode is almost over. Thus, many storylines peaked in this 9th episode of the sixth season. Here is the review…

Like I said, many storylines peaked in this episode (e.g. Bree, Katherine, Lynette) so expect to be entertained and most of all creeped out (in a good way, always) by the outcome of one storyline. You will want a lot more once the episode is over. I know I do….

The episode opens, where episode 7 left off (the strangling of the coffee shop waitress) and like I thought so, she died. Of course this results in Julie getting really worried, seeing as she was the first victim. Dad, Karl then, concerned about his daughter’s safety, says to Julie that they should change cars in case the attacker knows what car Julie is driving. Unfortunately, Karl didn’t help much since Susan saw Julie’s car parked outside a motel (where Bree and Karl were getting “busy”) and thought that Julie was in the motel with the older guy Julie used to date. As a result, the jig is up, for Bree and Karl since they get caught. Susan confronts Bree during a self defence class (that the housewives where taking due to the strangler) which results to some nice physical comedy between Susan and Bree. Susan then arranges a meeting between her Bree and Karl, which ends up nicely, since Susan begins to accept them more (she accepted them a bit too fast if you ask me, but I guess it would be pointless for Susan to get even more freaked out and then accept them).
In Lynette’s and Gaby’s story, things heat up when Lynette insists on not leaving her job. After Carlos gave her a crappy office, Gaby decided to forgive her, because of her guilt. Unfortunately, Lynette had already called a lawyer and things only got worse. Carlos gave Lynette a lot of work to do in very limited time, and since Lynette wasn’t able to do it, Carlos had the right to fire her. Basically, Lynette is screwed. Expect some great acting by Felicity Huffman in her last scene where Carlos fires her.
Furthermore, in Angie’s storyline, we get more insight on Danny’s character. When he gets rejected by Julie, mother Angie finds him lying down with a bottle of pills next to him and next thing we know, he is in the hospital. While he does survive, he reveals to the nurse (and to us of course) that his name is Tyler. Did he say it intentionally? Or was it the pills? We don’t know yet but the Bolens seem to be on the verge of moving out.
As far as Katherine is concerned, her storyline reaches its peak when she was told by Mike to never go near MJ again since she started telling him about Susan “stealing” Mike from her. When obsessive Katherine picked him up from school, Mike told her that he never ever loved her, and that she should back off. The episode ends with Katherine calling 911 and saying that they should come immediately because there is blood everywhere. The final shot shows a knife covered in blood on Katherine’s table…..
To sum up, as you can see the review is short due to the storylines interacting with one another, which always makes the pacing more interesting. I can’t wait for next week!
