The Office – Episode 6-13 Review

Shows, Top Story

“Whoever is giving me the 12 days of Christmas for Secret Santa…please stop. I can’t take anymore. My cat killed a turtledove…”

On the last episode of the year(“Secret Santa”) Michael becomes outraged when Jim allows Phyllis to play Santa Claus.

Jim and Dwight unveil a fake, undecorated tree to the disappointment of everyone. Yet another failure for the new Party Planning Committee. Phyllis finally has her dream fulfilled of playing Santa at the office this year but Michael, also clad in a Santa get up, is infuriated and attempts to force people to sit on his lap.

“You can’t yell out ‘I need this, I need this’ as you pin down an employee on your lap.”

Meanwhile, Darryl and Pam discover that Oscar has a big crush on a new warehouse worker. Andy also continues to be too coy to admit to being Erin’s secret Santa,  barraging her with the 12 days of Christmas.

After failing to secure his position as Santa Claus, Michael snaps, turns his Santa suit inside out and pulls his white beard down over his chin…”Behold…Jesus Christ.”

At the Christmas party, Pam awkwardly introduces Matt (the warehouse worker) to Oscar because “they’re the only two gay guys I know, but they should be together”.

Michael shouts out insults at the employees as gifts are distributed until Jim forces him to retreat to his office. Michael calls David Wallace to complain about Phyllis, but instead receives some very bad news about Dunder Mifflin. Someone has made an offer to buy the company and they plan to clean house.

Erin confronts Andy about his secret Santa gifts but he still refuses to give up on her. Oscar says goodbye to Matt and assures Pam that he knows what he’s doing.

Michael decides to buy the office pizzas as consolation for possibly being fired, and blurts out that they are going out of business. Michael calls David on speaker with the entire branch on the line. David clarifies that he and the rest of the board are the only ones losing their jobs. The office rejoices.

Michael sits on Phyllis’ lap and asks for an XBox and a TV…and also apologize for how he acted throughout the day.

At the end of the episode, Andy presents Erin with 12 drummers drumming while shouting Merry Christmas to her. She smiles, delighted with her last gift.
