Second Trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

News

Disney has debuted a second trailer for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland on Yahoo. The trailer will also be attached to many of the prints showing Avatar this weekend. I can still recall seeing Burton’s Edward Scissorhands in the summer of 1990, and can only hope that Burton can recreate that same magic. With his take on Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory he had the immeasurable task of eclipsing the family classic with Johnny Depp in the role made famous by Gene Wilder.

Disney’s live-action update of its animated classic stars Mia Wasikowska in the role of Alice, Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts, Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat, Christopher Lee as The Jabberwock, Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit, and Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar.

Tim Burton is the director, which I’ve already made clear. The screenplay was written by Linda Woolverton, who penned the Disney animated classics Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. The film is of course based on the famed Lewis Carroll book. Disney is bringing Alice in Wonderland to both digital 3D and 2D theaters everywhere on March 5th, 2010.
