TNA Monday Night: Spike TV Expectations, Ratings Target

News

Spike TV executives consider the TNA Monday Impact on January 4, 2010 as a test show intended to test the market and see what works and doesn’t work.

In a recent interview, Brian Diamond, the senior vice president of sports/specials at Spike said the “Impact” special would be considered a success if the show drew the same audience of approximately 1.5 million viewers who currently watch in the normal Impact Thursday timeslot.

Spike is realistic about going head to head with Raw, which reaches 5 million or more viewers most weeks.

“I don’t think we’re necessarily going to win that night (ratings-wise), but I do feel we’re best equipped going into battle with the product as it is right now,” said Diamond. “We’re all feeling very excited and confident about taking a shot and throwing our hat in the ring.”
