Most have not heard of Don Minnick. That makes sense; he spent only two games in the big leagues, in 1957 with the Washington Senators. It was in the minors where he shined the most—in 1955, he went 20-4 with a 2.78 while with the Single-A Reading Indians, and in 1957 he was 17-6 while with the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
The following are a few questions he answered for me in a through-the-mail questionnaire I sent him. It’s not a lot, but I thought you might enjoy reading his responses.

Question: When you made your debut in 1957, what did it feel like to be on a team that consisted of greats such as Roy Sievers?
Answer: On Roy Sievers night I made my major league debut against Boston-I pitched 2 innings-0 hits 0 runs (I walked Ted Williams to elongate his record for consecutive for times on base). Had chills running up my spine!!!

A: Only saw 2 (Baltimore & Washington)

A: Cleveland
