THR has reported that Bill Murray has signed on to star as the villain in Passion Play, a romantic thriller directed by Mitch Glazer.
Rhys Ifans has also joined the cast along with Megan Fox and Mickey Rourke.
The period piece tells the story of a down-on-his-luck jazz trumpet player who forms a bond with a winged beauty (Fox) who is part of a carnival sideshow.
Murray is set to play a gangster named Happy who wants to keep the two apart.
Glazer, who wrote the amazing Bill Murray Christmas film, Scrooged amongst others, is making his directorial debut with Passion.
The Pulse: As a Bill Murray is one of my all time favorite actors, I’m always excited to hear about a new film that he’s in (he was amazing in Zombieland!) However, him in a film with Megan Fox kind of makes me sad. Scrooged is one of my favorite Christmas films so Glazer teaming with Murray again is a good thing. I just hope Fox won’t bring the film down. Thoughts?
