NFL Playoffs Round 2 Preview

News

AFC
NY Jets vs. San Diego Chargers

The Jets surprised me last week by beating the Bengals; don’t expect them to do it again. The Chargers have been red-hot almost the whole year and have no reason not to continue their streak. Although these are not the same old Chargers from a couple years ago, they will still win this game. San Diego doesn’t have a great defense, but they have a very good and balanced offense. Finally, the Chargers don’t have to rely on L.T. for everything as Vincent Jackson, Malcom Floyd, and Antonio Gates with their size and speed are a match up nightmare for New York; but Darrelle Revis is the best corner in the league. Yes, the Chargers will win, but don’t expect this as a blow out; it will be close. As long as the Chargers prevent Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones from running wild, they should come out on top.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Colts and the Raven will provide us what should be the best game this weekend. I see the Colts coming out on top, but Baltimore will definitely make this a game. Ray Rice will most likely have another big week but, if the Ravens want to win, they’re going to need more in the passing game. Joe Flacco is going to have to complete more than 4 passes to beat the Colts, as they have a better defense than New England. I’m not expecting Rice and McGahee to have as good as they did last week. Indianapolis should have good win here and they have a very good shot at the Super Bowl mostly due to Peyton Manning and his ridiculously amazing passing game.

NFC
New Orleans Saints vs. Arizona Cardinals

If you’re looking for an exciting offensive shootout this weekend, then this is your game. I see this going to down to the final seconds if not an overtime game. I’m edging towards Arizona to win because of their playoff experience and their slightly superior defense, but New Orleans could easily have one of their “games”.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Cowboys have been speeding along the past months but they’re about to hit a speed bump: The Williams Wall. Dallas’ running game was stellar against the Eagles, but they might not do so well on sunday. Favre will be getting the ball to Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Visanthe Shiancoe (who is Questionable) and Bernard Berrian all day. Adrian Peterson will also have an excellent game. Tony Romo won’t play as good as he has of late but should have no problem getting to the ball to Miles Austin and Roy Williams, but if the ‘Boys can’t run they won’t win. I’m taking the Vikings narrowly.

Check back next week for another preview.
