ROH News: Training Seminar, ROH Charlotte and LA debuts

News

ROH usually runs its Newswires on Tuesdays, and at that point I share those news with you. For some reason, no Newswire today, but there have certainly been a couple of newsworthy developments I wanted to share with you:

ROH will be holding a special training seminar and tryout camp on March 7th, from 10 AM to 7 PM EST, at ROH’s headquarters and training center in suburban Philadelphia. The camp is being spearheaded by ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette, and will also be attended by ROH owner Cary Silkin, booker Adam Pearce, head trainer Delirious from the ROH Academy, and other top ROH stars. The seminar is open to any current pro wrestler with at least one year’s experience, and attendance will be limited to 30 applicants. The application fee is $195, and includes the day’s training, lunch, video of the campers’ tryout match, and critique by the ROH staff. Click here for complete details.

ROH will make its first live appearance at the Carolinas on April 3rd (Saturday), at an event named “The Big Bang!” The event will take place at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, NC. In his podcast today, Cornette stated that both the ROH World Title and the ROH World Tag Team Titles will be defended in Charlotte. In addition, there will be a Pick 6 Series match and a heavy lucha influence on the show, including an appearance by Blue Demon, Jr., one of the biggest names in Mexico. Tickers go on sale on Monday, February 15th. For ticket prices and more details on the show, including some potshots from Jim Cornette at WWE and TNA, click here.

Just one more reminder, ROH debuts in Los Angeles in just two weeks as part of the WrestleReunion convention on January 29th. ROH’s three feature matches on this show will see ROH World Champion Austin Aries face off against Jushin “Thunder” Liger, The Briscoes team up with the Young Bucks vs. The American Wolves and The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli), and the return to the ring of Jerry Lynn vs. Kenny King. Click here for a hype video of the event, and here for one of the Lynn vs. King match.
