Former super featherweight world champion Jorge Rodrigo Barrios is accused of killing a pregnant woman in a car accident in Mar del Plata, Argentina. According to police, Barrios ran a red light and struck an intersecting car in the process. The force of the collision spilled into a group of seven pedestrians, killing one. Witnesses say that Barrios fled the scene and hit another car during his attempted escape.
Barrios last fought in November of 2009. He held the WBO super featherweight title from 2005 to 2006.
