WWE News: Who Wrestled The Most Matches in 2009? [updated]

News

WWE wrestlers are often talking about wrestling 200 or 300 dates per year, and on the road that much as well. But as this list indicates, the wrestlers are mostly talk.

In 2009, these are the top 15 WWE wrestlers in terms of quantity of matches:

1) CM Punk (197)
2) John Cena (181)
3) Randy Orton (178)
4) Kofi Kingston (178)
5) Big Show (170)
6) Chris Jericho (167) (added, my bad)
7) Christian (160)
8) Jack Swagger (165)
9) MVP (159)
10) John Morrison (158)
11) The Miz (157)
12) Cody Rhodes (152)
13) Primo Colon (149)
14) Ted DiBiase (146)
15) Rey Mysterio (142)
16) William Regal (141)

The top women were Beth Phoenix with 137 and Melina with 136

Other notables:

Shawn Michaels (63)
HHH (136)
Edge (105)
Undertaker (93)

So what can we discern from this list.

1) HHH got beat by a girl when it comes to total number of matches for a calendar year. (I wonder if he throws like one, too?)
2) CM Punk was so close to the 200-date plateau. Even still, he’ll probably celebrate the milestone with a Pepsi Throwback.
3) For a guy who talks about not being able to see him, John Cena was sure seen by a lot of people in 2009.
4) With Randy Orton, I wonder how many of those 178 matches featured the combinations of Cena and HHH?
