So I’m wasting time on the Internet today when I see something that Adam Green posted on facebook. The writer-director of Hatchet and Spiral is getting raves at Sundance for his latest film Frozen. Yet, even with that he posted that his short film, Saber, was nearing a million hits on Youtube. And like sheep I followed the posted link and watched.
Other than Troops this is the only Star Wars-inspired short that I’ve seen. It’s pretty good. Just imagine an Axe Body Spray commercial with scantily clad women fondling light sabers. Well, maybe not fondling, but they’ve got a good grip on them.

So what’s the consensus? Adam Green may never command a big tentpole project, but he’s a filmmaker that likes to have fun. That’s what Saber is: a little diversion for the Net community to enjoy. Even if you don’t like Star Wars at least you got two chicks fighting in their underwear. And who doesn’t enjoy that?
