Blu-ray News: Disney Details Old Dogs and LOST; Gives Dates for Tombstone and Armageddon

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is getting its spring line of releases in order. It has revealed that last Thanksgiving cinematic turkey Old Dogs is coming to Blu-ray on March 9th. The comedy starring John Travolta, Robin Williams and Seth Green will be available in two editions: a single-disc BD and a BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack.

Special features include:

Single-disc edition
● Audio commentary by director Walt Becker, producer Andrew Panay, and writers David Diamond and David Weissman
● Deleted scenes
● Bloopers
● “Every Little Step”: new music video performed by John Travolta and Ella Bleu Travolta (BD-exclusive)

Three-disc combo
● “You’ve Been A Friend To Me”: music video performed by Bryan Adams (BD-exclusive)
● Young Dogs Learn Old Tricks (BD-exclusive)

The sixth season of LOST has yet to have its season premiere and already Disney is telling us when we can buy it in stores. According to TV Shows on DVD, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release both LOST: The Complete Sixth and Final Season and LOST: The Complete Collection on August 24, 2009. (NOTE: Below is placeholder art. Artwork is subject to change.):

Special features are set to include:

● Original scripted content that goes deeper into some of the stories, exclusive to Blu-ray and DVD produced by Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse
● Bloopers and deleted Scenes
● Lost on Location – Go behind-the-scenes and get the stories from the set, on location in Hawaii from the actors and crew who make it happen.
● Crafting a Final Season – Investigation into the goals and expectations of the season through interviews with writers, producers, cast, and crew
● Audio commentaries
● Lost University (BD-exclusive, powered by BD-Live)

Lost: The Complete Collection will include an additional bonus disc with at least two hours of extra exclusive content.


And our last bit of Disney news for the day is that the studio will release Michael Bay’s Armageddon and the western hit Tombstone on Blu-ray on April 27, 2009. Well ain’t that a huckleberry.
