It’s official. Floyd Mayweather Jr has signed the contract to fight Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV on May 1. Mayweather was the last to sign, as Mosley had signed the contract five days ago.
This fight was put together after each man lost out on a fight with a different opponent. First, Floyd Mayweather Jr was unable to come to terms with Manny Pacquiao after a compromise could not be met regarding the drug testing for the fight. Then, Shane Mosley was scheduled to meet Andre Berto on Jan 30 but Berto had to withdraw after the loss of family members due to the earthquake in Haiti.
Shane Mosley has agreed to the random, Olympic-style drug testing that held up Mayweather’s fight with Pacquiao. Mayweather will also be subject to the random testing.
