Howard Stern Address American Idol Rumor That He Is Simon Cowell's Replacement

News

Howard Stern confirmed the rumors that he is under consideration to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol.

On his Monday satellite radio show, the shock jock said anyone who turned the position down would be a fool.

“There’s not a better job on the planet than judging that f—ing karaoke contest,” he said. He added, “They’d have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough.” The shock jock was referencing a story from the New York Post suggesting that he is the leading candidate to replace Cowell on the show’s judging panel in 2011. Stern’s $500 million five-year contract with Sirius XM expires at the end of this year.
