Hague, Nover the latest on UFC chopping block

News

The UFC released one of the most prominent heavyweights in the history of mixed martial arts today in Mark “The Hammer” Coleman. However, he was not the only man to find himself unemployed this Wednesday, as Tim Hague and Phillipe Nover also were released by the promotion.

The news was reported by Jeremy Botter at Heavy.com earlier today.

Hague, nicknamed “The Thrashing Machine”, dropped a majority decision to Chris Tuscherer at UFC 109 this past Saturday, Feb. 6. While the decision was considered to be remarkably flawed, the loss was Hague’s second consecutive defeat, with his only victory in the UFC coming against Pat Barry at UFC 98.

Nover, who was once considered one of the UFC lightweight division’s top prospects, has had little luck since his time on “The Ultimate Fighter”. He was sent packing due to a three fight skid, losing to Efrain Escudero, Kyle Bradley, and, most recently, Robert Emerson.
