The Losers Pushed Back to Summer

News, Projects

Two weeks after Warner Bros. debuted the trailer for The Losers, the studio has decided to push back its release date from April 9th to June 4th. This news comes on the heels of WB pushing Clash of the Titans back a week so that it can be released in 3D.

No concrete reason has been given for the release date delay, but, as Superhero Hype“>Superhero Hype points out, this will mean that the movie will hit theaters a week before The A-Team, which is interesting because the two movies have been heavily compared to each other. Is this Warner Bros. way of capitalizing on The A-Teams‘s popularity?

The Losers, for those who don’t know, is based on the Vertigo mini-series written by Andy Diggle and drawn by Jock. It tells the story of a special forces team betrayed by their handler, known only as Max. Eager to take their names off a secret CIA death list, The Losers begin a campaign against the CIA, uncovering illegal programs spearheaded by the mysterious Max.

The movie is directed by Sylvain White, written by Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt, and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Holt McCallany, Oscar Jaenada, Jason Patric, and Peter Macdissi.
