Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and light middleweight champion Sergio Martinez have verbally agreed to an April 17 middleweight bout. The fight will take place in Atlantic City, NJ, the site of Martinez’ thrilling scrap with Paul Williams. The fight will be televised by HBO as part of a split-site doubleheader including Lucian Bute vs. Edison Miranda in Montreal.
While both fighters have agreed to the fight, the contracts have not yet been signed. A press conference to announce the fight is being held until after the Winter Olympics.
