Showtime has decided to move their April 17 Super Six doubleheader featuring Andre Ward vs. Allan Green and Carl Froch vs. Mikkel Kessler to April 24. No reason was given for the two fights being pushed back one week.
The move means that the Showtime doubleheader will not conflict with the HBO doubleheader scheduled for April 17. HBO is airing Lucian Bute vs. Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik vs. Sergio Martinez on April 17. However, HBO may air a rumored bout between Tomasz Adamek and Chris Arreola on April 24.
While three of the Super Six contestants are taking the one-week delay in stride, Carl Froch is not happy. Many of his English fans had made travel arrangements for an April 17 bout in Herning, Denmark. Froch hopes his fans will be understanding and still come out to support him on April 24.
