Greatest Survivor Player Of All-Time: Contenders – Lex van den Berghe

Lex van den Berghe
Survivor Africa, Survivor All-Stars

I am a huge Lex van den Berghe fan. One of the biggest. I thought that the game that he played in Africa is a handbook in how to play Survivor. He dominated all aspects of the game, initially forging a strong alliance with the two strongest men in his Boran tribe (usually a major no-no in Survivor is basing an alliance solely on gender), and using Kelly Goldsmith and Kim Johnson as his extra votes. Lex was a strong leader, a family man and someone who possessed a great deal of value in loyalty and respect. Given the number of tattoos he had all over his body, he was certainly memorable, but mostly because he wasn’t what I expected. He won challenges, took out anyone that crossed him and do not forget the fact that he managed to convince Brandon Quinton to turn on his own tribe when he was in danger. Even to this day, I do not feel Lex gets enough credit for his dominant African performance.
