Dixie Carter News: TNA Monday Night Move, Hulk Hogan, Weekly Live Tapings

News

It’s always a treat to read a Dixie Carter interview to get the PULSE of what’s going on at TNA.

on moving to Monday’s with Hulk Hogan
Well, we’ve talked about a move to Monday nights for a while, since, for over a year and it just seemed like the time was right. When I knew Hulk Hogan was coming on board, I just kind of put a halt to that and just thought how great would it be for the first time he debuts on our show, to let that be the first time we go to Monday night and the timing turned out perfect.

on tracking ratings and her role day to day
I have to look at 30,000 feet and really look at the ripple effect. I look at the changes in our company just since that Madison Square Garden press conference (Oct. 27, 2009) and they are tremendous. There are people out there who ask why would you bring in Hulk Hogan to this company and why would you do this? It has been the best decision I ever made. I don’t think I’ve ever had one conversation with Hulk Hogan about Hulk Hogan. Every conversation I have with him is about the other TNA talent we have and how can we make them better and how can we make them household names.

on going live every week instead of every other week
Smart business decisions are more important than anything else at this point. We should take a lot of those dollars and instead of just going live right away and use it to help spread the word on TNA.
