Which WWE Superstars Wrestled The Most Matches?

News

A Wrestling Observer reader compiled a list of which WWE wrestlers have had the most matches from 1980 to 2009. The numbers are not based on complete records as there have been a number of matches or shows that were not archived, yet the general order is likely to be correct. The History of WWE website the information is gathered from has an estimated 50-60% if results from 1980-83, about 70% from 1984 onwards and up to 90% in more recent years.

14. Steve Lombardi (1983-03)21 1,409

15. Edge (1996-09)14 1,406 The remainder of the top 30 would be Jim Neidhart, John Bradshaw Layfield, Big Bossman, Bob Holly, Jim Duggan, Ted DiBiase Sr., Chris Jericho, Big Show, Christian, Brutus Beefcake, Jake Roberts, Mike “IRS” Rotunda, Jeff Hardy, Rick Martel and Val Venis.

Bret Hart’s record would appear to be safe for several years. The Undertaker is unlikely to last for much longer even on a part-time basis. Shawn Michaels has been trying to retire for years before being convinced to return, yet again is unlikely to wrestle enough matches to beat Hart’s tally. Triple H could perhaps do it but would need to maintain a vigorous schedule and remain injury-free.
