While network execs are declining comment, a report claims that 24 is on the verge of being cancelled by FOX.
The report claims that the cost of producing the show continues to increase while rating continue to fall. The studio claims that the show is being shopped to other networks but because it is in its 8th season and hefty price, no real interest is expected.
The good news is that while the TV series is on the way out, the movie franchise possibilities are only increasing. Twentieth Century Fox just hired writer Billy Ray (State of Play) to pen the movie script and is rumoured to involve moving Jack Bauer to Europe.
