Doug DrabekDoug Drabek was a very solid starter in the 1980s and 1990s, winning 155 games in a career that spanned 13 seasons. He was an All-Star once and in 1990, he led the league in wins.

A few years ago, I sent him a questionnaire and he graciously filled it out. I thought you might be interested in what he had to say.

Question: As a rookie in 1986, how did it feel to be surrounded by greats such as Ron Guidry, Joe Niekro, Dave Righetti, and Tommy John?
Answer: It was fun playing with some of the big names in baseball.

Q: Which ballpark was your favorite?
A: Busch Stadium

Q: As a child, what was your favorite baseball team?
A: Oakland A’s

Q: Did you dream of becoming a professional baseball player as a child? If not, what did you want to be?
A: Yes

Q: When you appeared in the 1994 All-Stars game, what did it feel like?
A: It was great being around different players from other teams

Q: Who was your favorite baseball player as a child?
A: Joe Rudi

Q: At the ballpark, which did you prefer: Hot Dog, Peanuts, Sausage?
A: Peanuts
