On TNA Impact this week, Ric Flair beat his own head to bleed, which was part of the script and storyline. However, he went overboard at the tapings, going as far as to cup his own blood and throw the blood into the crowd.
TNA management reportedly gave him a “tongue lashing” backstage about the blood tossing, and it was edited off the show. It’s said that if another person had thrown blood into the crowd, it would have been a much bigger deal, but since it was Flair, he got off with only a repremand.
TNA is reportedly trying to use blood on TV and PPV as a differentiator against WWE’s PG direction.
