Courtesy of IGN, 20th Century Fox has debuted the first official trailer for Robert Rodriguez & Nimród Antal’s Predators. As much as other sites would have you believe, this is not a reboot of action franchise that began in 1987 with John McTiernan at the helm and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is the sequel we’ve been waiting for for more than two decades. Instead of a group having to face off against one Predator, they have to face a swarm (hence the title). Late last week we gave you a behind-the-scenes look at the footage producer Robert Rodriguez showed attendees of the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin. Now take a look at the whole shebang.
The Pulse: Now this is what I’m talking about! The trailer doesn’t tell us squat about the plot, but it’s not rocket science. It’ll probably adhere to what worked in the original. You got Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Danny “Machete” Trejo, and Topher Grace (what?!), Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) as a Predator and the combined talents of Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal. Predators isn’t a prestige picture, so look for tons of carnage and gunfire when it is released on July 7th.
