Another fresh episode of my show, Reality Obsessed tonight.
In this one, I determine how crazy is too crazy for reality television by employing my banana meter.
The episode preview is:
Reality TV thrives on outrageous characters and it seems like the nuttier the better. But, when you lock extreme characters up in the America’s Next Top Model, the Bachelor, Real World or Big Brother house, how do you guarantee they’re crazy enough to provide juicy entertainment but won’t kill each other. What is the process to determine casting those stranded on Survivor make great reality TV, but don’t snap? And where is the sanity middle ground when you are filtering through reality show participants? What is normal and where does crazy begin and end? Murtz tracks down reality stars, casting directors and even a reality therapist to find the perfect formula for crazy but not too crazy. And if being on TV means you have to be a little bit crazy – does Murtz have a little case of the nuts?
My guest stars include:
– Jonny Fairplay (Survivor Pearl Islands)
– Trishelle Cannatella (Real World Vegas)
-Ayiiia Elizarraras (Real World Cancun
– Lisa D’Amato (America’s Next Top Model Cycle 5)
– Robyn Kass (Casting Agent For Big Brother)
– Matt Antrim (Casting Agent For Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader)
It airs on TVTropolis in Canada at 7 PM.
