Two TV Spots that will Kick-Ass!

News, Trailers

Lionsgate has released two new TV spots for the upcoming movie Kick-Ass. The first one, entitled “Kick Ass – Beat-’em Up Clip,” is a montage of, well, beat-’em up scenes from the movie, and the second, more prosaically titled “Kick-Ass Commercial” focuses a bit more on the plot.

The movie, based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., takes place in a world without heroes and a group of people that decide to become costumed vigilantes with names like “Kick-Ass” and “Hit Girl” to rather comic results. Lionsgate will release the movie April 16. It’s directed by Mathew Vaughn and stars Nicholas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz. The movie is Rated R for violence, language, sexual content, and drug use.

The Pulse This is one of the few comics that I missed getting (stupid being poor), so I can’t say much about the source material other than Mark Millar writes some incredibly profane, insane, and insanely entertaining stories, so this does have potential. And am I wrong in thinking that Hit Girl looks cute as a button? Considering she’s a sociopathic ninja-anime schoolgirl I bet I am.
