Antonio Margarito To Return In May

News

Antonio Margarito will make his return to boxing on May 8, headlining Latin Fury 14 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Margarito will face Roberto Garcia in a light middleweight bout.

Antonio Margarito was given a one-year suspension from boxing after being caught with a plaster-like substance in his handwraps while prepping for his 2009 fight with Shane Mosley. The substance was removed and Mosley went on to dominate the fight.

Margarito is still not cleared to fight in the United States as commissions debate whether one-year was punishment enough. Margarito can still fight outside of the US and will be doing just that on May 8.

Also scheduled for the Latin Fury 14 card is Jorge Solis vs. Mario Santiago, Brandon Rios vs. Urbano Antillion, and the pay-per-view debut of Alfonso Lopez.
