Vince McMahon’s Retirement & Hulk Hogan’s WWE Return

News

Vince McMahon, 64, has decided to drop the Mr McMahon character. He noted that the character was created in the aftermath of the Montreal Screwjob, which made it a good time to stop it as Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels have now both brought closure to it. Vince has said the same thing in the past but changed his mind after thinking up a new angle or seeing ratings drop. He wants to keep fresh, younger faces on TV at this point, which is one of the main reasons behind not bringing back Jim Ross for WrestleMania. He had originally planned to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania before the Bret Hart deal came together. The layout of their match was designed to blow off all the heel heat for Mr McMahon and leave the character as a babyface.

Some people in WWE management are already talking about Hulk Hogan returning for WrestleMania 27, potentially to work with John Cena. They have seen in the past how Hogan will bail a ship before it sinks and note how TNA has not worked out for him so far. Hogan signed a one-year deal with TNA, which is expected to expire sometime between October and January.
